Now my PC has a clean install and its still unusable because of this problem. If I open the regular Windows Start menu (using CTRL+Windows Key) and search from there, there is no CPU spike. Funny thing is, I have ticked the option to use Cortana Search instead of Start10 search. One thing i will add is that when i pull the Network cable the issue goes away, so its defiantly updating something but i cant see it being windows updates as it keeps failing from which i assume is because of this Services usage.ĭoes anyone know what this could be as its driving me nuts, I did a clean install as my PC was becoming unusable. I've noticed that every time I search from the Start10 menu, there is a spike of high CPU usage by Windows Explorer process for a few minutes. as to the other possible problems i doubt they would affect a high end machine. Yes my machine has updates to run but its having a hard time installing them because of this SVCHOST usage. I running I7 5960x so its not anything to do with the machine spec, i have done the normal googling for the issue and found various articles ranging from Windows Updates, Spotlight, P2P delivery. But I just clean installed W10 1607 on my Home machine and ive got it on this too.

Windows: Internet Explorer 11+, Edge 12+, Firefox 27+, Chrome 30+. First time i saw this happen i assumed it was because the machines i was installing on were low end. Note: Devices running Windows 10 must run Windows 10 Home, Pro, or Enterprise. Ive installed Win 10 both builds 1511 & now 1607, after the clean install i always see Service Host: Local System use almost 100% CPU usage.
